No. 1077 - Gagebrook - Uniting Church

Gagebrook is a northern suburb of Greater Hobart. It came into prominence when the Housing Department built a large estate in the 1980s and named it after an old farm in the district.

Gagebrook’s Uniting Church was destroyed by a deliberately lit fire in October 2017. An attempt to burn the church earlier in the same year was unsuccessful.

The church was also a community centre and provided essential social services for the Gagebrook community. At the time it was intended to rebuild the church and community centre but this did not eventuate and the site has been sold.
